Have you heard about the campaign to make London the world’s first National Park City? It’s led by www.greaterlondonnationalpark.org.uk. This amazing map, created by @DanRavenEllison and Peter Boyce, uses the Office for National Statistics Generalised Land Use Database (2005) to reveal an alternative picture of the capital.
Why is there so much open green space on the map? Could it be that over many years, people cared enough to speak up for their treasured spaces and make sure they stayed green? It looks as if being a Friend of your local green space really works!
